Bring in products and turn them into posts

The four ways products enter your catalog, how a product becomes a draft post, and how that draft becomes a published, tracked post.

Last updated: 2026-04-28

With your account wired up, the day-to-day loop in Afflow is simple: get products in, turn them into posts, publish. This article shows the orchestration end-to-end. The deep dives for each step live in the Products and Posts sections.

Four ways to add products

  • Paste a URL on the Products page — the everyday flow. Click Import Products, paste an AliExpress or Amazon URL (or just the product ID), pick the category, and confirm. Bulk import via CSV / XLS / XLSX uses the same dialog.
  • Chrome extension — install the official Afflow extension from the Chrome Web Store. Every AliExpress product page then gets a one-click Import to Afflow button. Fastest while you are already browsing the marketplace.
  • Explore Products — search the live AliExpress catalog from inside Afflow. The button appears in the Products page header once AliExpress is connected. There is also a curated Hot Products tab for trending items.
  • AI Product Discovery — Afflow's AI proposes products to add based on what is already in your catalog. Each suggestion lands as Pending for your review. Available on the Autopilot plan and above.
Importing a product just adds it to your catalog. Nothing publishes until you turn it into a post. The full reference for every entry point is in the Products section.

From product to draft post

From the Products page, find the product you want to promote and click Create Post on its card. Afflow's AI writer generates the user-facing title, the "why to buy" body, an opening hook, and any configured alternative message variants — all in a few seconds. The new post lands in Posts → Pending.

Every post inherits the rules of the category its product belongs to: language, currency, marketing tone, custom prompt, template, variant count, media settings, scheduling window, tracking, and which groups it can reach. Switching categories switches the rules — so make sure the product is in the right category before you click Create Post.

Each post creation costs 1 AI credit, plus 1 credit per generated variant. If you are out of credits, post creation returns an error before any AI call is made. Your remaining balance is in the user menu.

Approve, then publish

Open Posts. The new post is on the Pending tab. Click it to open the editor — rewrite the title or body, reorder or remove images, switch the variant the post will use. When it looks right, click Approve. The post moves to the Approved tab. Approval and publishing are separate steps.

From an approved post you have three publishing options:

  • Publish — pick a single group from the post's actions; the post is sent right away.
  • Publish to All Groups — fan the same post out to every group attached to the post's category, one after another. Each group gets its own fresh tracking link.
  • Schedule — the clock icon on an approved post opens a per-post schedule picker. Slots come from your category's daily window and interval (set in Posts → Settings → Scheduling).

Translation at publish time

When a post is sent to a group whose language differs from the category's content language, Afflow translates the copy automatically before sending. This keeps audiences in their own language even when one category feeds groups in several. Translation is always on and consumes AI credits — covered in detail in Turn on automation.

What is next

Manual creation and publishing is enough to run a healthy account, but every step here can be automated. Read Turn on automation next to skip the Pending step, publish on a recurring schedule, repost old winners, and let the AI suggest new products to add.
